Cookie Policy

Last updated 6 August 2026

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Some are needed to make the site work at all; others help us understand how AIDA is used. This page explains which ones we use and how to control them.

1. Why we use cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember what you have saved, take payments securely, and understand which parts of AIDA people find useful. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or sell your data.

2. The cookies we use

Type What it does Examples
Strictly necessary Makes the site work: signing in, keeping your session, remembering your basket, protecting forms from abuse. These cannot be switched off. WordPress login and session cookies, WooCommerce cart cookies, security tokens
Functional Remembers choices you have made, such as items saved to your Liked list before you sign in. Local storage for saved practitioners and services
Analytics Tells us anonymously which pages get read, so we know what to publish more of. Site analytics cookies
Performance Helps pages load faster by caching content. Hosting and caching cookies

3. Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by services we rely on rather than by us:

  • Our payment provider, to process payments securely and prevent fraud
  • Embedded content, such as a video in an article, which may set cookies from that platform

We do not control these cookies. Their own privacy and cookie policies apply.

4. How long they last

Session cookies disappear when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay for a set period — usually between a few days and a year — so the site remembers you next time.

5. Managing cookies

You can control cookies in your browser settings: block them, delete them, or ask to be warned before one is set. Every major browser has instructions in its help pages.

Be aware that blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you signing in, saving anything, or completing a purchase.

6. Do Not Track

We honour “Do Not Track” browser settings where the analytics tools we use support it.

7. Changes

If we add or remove cookies we will update this page and the date at the top.
