Six pillars, because bodies don't heal in one direction

Autoimmune conditions are rarely fixed by one change. AIDA organises everything — every practitioner, every service, all 53 articles — around six areas of everyday life that shape how you feel. Pick the one where you have the most room to move, and start there.

Why we work this way

One diagnosis, six places to pull the lever

Most autoimmune advice arrives as a single instruction: change your diet, manage your stress, do more exercise. Useful, and almost never enough on its own — because the systems involved all talk to each other. Poor sleep raises inflammation. Inflammation wrecks digestion. Digestion affects mood. Mood affects whether you move at all.

So instead of one answer, we map everything to six pillars. Each one is a place you can make a change, and each has practitioners who work in it every day. You do not have to fix all six. Most people find one or two are doing the most damage, and start there.

It also makes the site usable. Every article, every service and every practitioner is tagged to a pillar, so you can go from “my sleep is destroying me” to a person who can help in two clicks.

What the pillars are for

  • A place to start. When everything feels broken, six options beat an infinite list.
  • A way to find the right person. Practitioners list which pillars they work in, so you are not guessing.
  • A reminder that it is connected. Fixing sleep often improves three other things at once.
  • A filter for the noise. 53 articles and 8 services, sorted into things you can act on.

1 Mind and body

Mind and body

The relationship between what you think and what your body does.

Stress, trauma and an over-firing nervous system show up physically in autoimmune conditions. This pillar covers nervous system regulation, mindset, breathwork, therapy and the emotional side of a diagnosis nobody warns you about.

2 Nutrition

Nutrition

Food as something you work with, not something you fight.

Not fad diets and not a list of forbidden foods. Gut health, elimination protocols done properly, blood sugar, nutrient gaps, and how to eat in a way you can actually keep up on a bad week.

3 Movement

Movement

Staying active without paying for it for three days.

Autoimmune bodies do not respond to exercise the way healthy bodies do. This pillar is about pacing, strength that survives a flare, gentle mobility, and knowing when rest is the more useful choice.

4 Sleep

Sleep

The repair work your body can only do when you are unconscious.

Poor sleep raises inflammation, and inflammation wrecks sleep. Circadian rhythm, evening routines, pain that wakes you, and what to do about the 3am wake-up that will not shift.

5 Community

Community

Being believed, by people who have been there.

Isolation is a symptom too. This pillar covers peer support, being heard by healthcare professionals, navigating work and relationships, and the practical difference of talking to someone who does not need it explained.

6 Sound and sensory

Sound and sensory

The inputs most people never think about.

Sound therapy, light, touch and sensory load. For people whose nervous systems are already running hot, what you put into your senses is not a luxury — it is a lever.
